World War 1 Roll of Honour [F.A Jeffery - F. Windibank]

Frederick Arthur Jeffery attended 1905-1907. Died 17/12/1917 aged 25. He was the son of Frederick Arthur and Fanny Emily Jeffery of 78 Walmer Road, Fratton, Portsmouth. He is buried in Milton Cemetery, Portsmouth.

Royston Sidney Jenkins attended 1904-1907. Died 19/01/1917 aged 24. He was the son of T. and E.H. Jenkins of 2 Manners Road, Southsea. He is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

Arthur Harold Jones attended 1905-1908. Died 31/05/1916 age unknown. He is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

Francis Cecil Knowles attended 1913-1916. Died 24/10/1918 age 18. He is buried in West Norwood Cemetery. Sadly, we do not have an image of him.

George Thomson Laughland attended 1905-1908. Died 26/06/1915 age unknown. He is buried in Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery.

Edward George Ling attended 1906-1909. Died 26/06/1915 aged 21. He is buried in Longuenesse(St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery.

Leonard Charles Major attended 1902. Died 31/05/1916 aged 27. He was the son of the late Eli and Mary Jane Major of 24 Teddington Road, Milton, Portsmouth.He is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

Reginald Thomas Mills attended 1908-1909. Died 09/05/1915 aged 19. He was the son of James and Nellie Mills of 13 Bramfield Road, Battersea, London. He is remembered on the Ploegsteert Memorial. Sadly we do not have an image of him.

Thomas Leslie Makepeace attended 1901-1903. A pre-War entrant to the Navy, he served on surface ships before being transferred to submarines in the War where his duties were in especially dangerous places. The strain told on his health but he did not give in until compelled to do so; he never fully recovered and died in hospital in England at the age of 30.

Charles Gerald Mitchell attended 1899-1900. Died 20/04/1917 aged 20. He was the son of J.H. and S.J. Mitchell of Southsea. He is buried in the Ecoivred Military Cemetery,Mont-St. Eloi.

Herbert Lewis Mitchell attended 1905-1909. Died 31/05/1916 aged 22. He was the son of James and Isabella Mitchell of 106 Francis Avenue, Southsea. He is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

Walter Henry Morgan attended 1904-1905. Died 12/07/1916 age unknown. He is buried in the Berks Cemetery Extension .

Frank Mitchelmore Aldridge Nelder attended 1898-1899. Died 12/02/1919 aged 34. He was the son of George and Jane Nelder of Portsmouth and husband of Gertrude Nelder of Stanley Park Avenue, Liverpool. He is buried in Liverpool (Anfield) Cemetery.

Arthur Robert Nichols, M.C., B.A. attended 1904-1908. Died 23/10/1918 aged 26. He was the son of the late Lt. John Hutchings Nichols, R.N., and Emily Nichols. He is buried in Montay Communal Cemetery.

William Stanley Over attended 1904-1906. Died 15/09/1916 aged 26. He was the son of Walter J. and Ellen Over of 146 Orchard Road, Southsea and the husband of Constance Over. He is buried in the Guards' Cemetery, Lesboeufs.

Leslie Overton attended 1907-1908. Died 01/07/1916 age unknown. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.

Walter George Pearce attended 1904-1907. Died 12/04/1917 age unknown. He is buried in Bailleul Road East Cemetery, St. Laurent-Blangy

George Edwin Harold Parks attended 1906-1910.Died 12/10/1918 aged 24. He was the son of Dr. G.J. Parks and Mrs Parks of 29 Malvern Road, Southsea and husband of Winifred Parks. He is buried in Montigny Communal Cemetery.

Frederick Pullman attended 1905-1907. Died 17/02/1917 aged 26. He is buried in Kingston Cemetery, Portsmouth. His youngest brother, Albert, was also killed on 08/08/1918 - although not a former member of the school.

Maurice Tom Richards attended 1908-1911. Died 23/09/1917 aged 22. He was the son of Captain T.E. and Mrs C.F. Richards of 73, Devonshire Avenue, Portsmouth. He is buried in Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun.

Reginald Charles Rundell, B.Sc. attended 1906-1911. Died 03/05/1917 aged 22. He was the son of Joseph W. E. and Laura Janet Rundell of 117 Manners Road, Southsea. He is buried in Crump Trench British Ceremony, Fampoux.

Herbert Thomas Scarbrough attended 1906-1911. Died 09/09/1916 aged 22. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.

Edgar Thomas Smith attended 1909-1913. Died 04/10/1917 aged 20. He was the son of Edgar Francis and Bessie Smith of 17 Haslemere Road, Southsea. He is buried in the Divisional Collecting Post Cemetery

Samuel Robert Victor Self attended 1902-1904. Died 05/06/1916 aged 26. He was the son of Lt Cmdr.Lionel Self (Retired) and Mary Elizabeth Self of 129 Festing Grove, Southsea. He is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

Albert Henry Shott attended 1905-1909. Died 26.10/1916. He was the husband of Ivy Jewel Shott of 32 Alverstone Road, Milton, Portsmouth. He is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

Francis William Squires attended 1909-1911. Died 10/11/1916 aged 20. He was the son of Major James Squires (R.M.A.) and Emma Squires of "Markham", Fox Corner, Worplesdon, Surrey. He is buried in Guillemont Road Cemetery.

Alan Davidson Steed attended 1906-1911. Died 30/04/1918 aged 23. He was the son of Alfred and Edith Steed of 28 Polwarth Gardens, Hyndland, Glasgow. He is remembered on the Jerusalem Memorial .

Alfred Percival Stilwell attended 1895-1896. Died 02/07/1917 aged 36. He was the son of Benjamin and Mary Stilwell of Portsmouth. He is buried in the Aire Communal Cemetery

Charles Leonard Stokes attended 1907-1912. Died 26/09/1917 aged 23. He was the son of Charles William and Elizabeth Jackson Stokes of 32 Nelson Road, Southsea. He is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial.

Edwin Herbert Summers attended 1904-1906. Died 08/05/1917 aged 27. He was the son of Capt. E. J. and Mrs M.A. Summers of 21 Pelham Road, Southsea and husband of Edith Summers of 31 Angerstein Road, Southsea. He is remembered on the Arras Memorial.

Clarence Norman Tanner attended 1911-1913. Died 17/09/1916 aged 16. He was the son of Charles G. and Mrs A. Tanner of 217 Fawcett Road, Southsea. He is buried in Dartmoor Cemetery, Becordel-Becourt.

Robert Henry Turner attended 1910-1913. Died 23/03/1918 aged 21. He was the son of Robert Henry Turner M.A., Mus. Bac.F.R.C.O. and Elizabeth Adriana Cornelia Turner of 69 Victoria Road North, Southsea. He is buried in Dernancourt Communal Cemetery.

Henry Walter Vaughan attended 1903-1904. Died 26/09/1918 aged 28. He was the son of James and Caroline Vaughan of 43 Herbert Road, Landport, Portsmouth. He is remembered on the Portsmouth War Memorial.

Bertram Edward Steventon Wagner attended 1901-1903. He had been recommended for a Commission and died 10/01/1918, age unknown, just days before he was due to return to England for his training. He is buried in Spoilbank Cemetery.

Clarence Wilfred Wilkinson attended 1904-1906. Sadly, we do not have an image of him and we are still attempting to discover more information. We will update if/when available.

Charles Frederick Hilliard White attended 1904-1906. Died 31/05/1916 aged 25. He was the son of Frederick William and Caroline Florence White of 1, Ravenswood Road, Croydon, Surrey. He is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

Frederick Henry Williamson attended 1902-1905. Died 09/05/1918 aged 27. He was the son of Henry John and Marie Frances Williamson of "Crofton" 69 Devonshire Avenue, Southsea. He is buried in Longunesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery.

William Thomas Wills attended 1897-1899. Died 04/08/1917. He was the son of W.T. and H. Wills of Portsmouth and the husband of Alice M. Wills of 10, Preston Road, North End, Portsmouth. He is buried in Brandhoek New Military Cemetery.

Frank Windibank attended 1902-1903. Died 16/12/1919 aged 31. He was the son of the late Richard and Emily Windibank of 229, Summers Road, Southsea and the husband of Dorothea Eleanor Windibank of 10, Eastgate Square, Chichester. He is buried in Hollybrook Cemetery, Southampton.
