John Carrick (Staff 57)

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of John Carrick at the age of 91. Funeral details now added..

John has been acknowleged by many students as being an excellent teacher especially of his main subject, Latin. He was also an excellent cricketer bowling unplayable leg-breaks and umpiring from the comfort of his shooting stick. John played the bassoon very competently in the school Orchestra. A regular at the Annual Dinners, John will be missed by us all.

John's funeral is at Eltham Crematorium SE9 2AZ at 1.45pm on Tuesday 10th September. There will be a small wake at his care home afterwards.

Cathy, his daughter, is aware that people in the Portsmouth area might like to say goodbye so there will be a celebration of John`s life/wake at the Havant Park Pavilion from 1pm on Wednesday 11th September. All are welcome and there will be a light buffet and the bar will be open. If you are intending to come please let Chris Vincent know on 07872 883752
